Kimberly did the design for my basement apartment renovation and was so great to work with. High attention to detail and she was able to capture my personal style in the space. Very communicative and generous with her time. I would certainly recommend her to anyone in DC looking for design services!

I hired Kimberly after interviewing several designers I found on Houzz, Instagram, and elsewhere. She immediately impressed me as someone with a talented eye and refined tastes who was willing to go bold. I wanted someone who wasn't afraid of using color creatively rather than using the typical neutral grayed-out palettes.

The project called for creating an eclectic interior with a masculine aesthetic for the first floor of my small townhouse, in an open plan. This was the first time I hired a designer so I wasn't sure what to expect. Kimberly took careful note of my requirements and got to work right away on putting together some ideas for color scheme, furniture pieces, etc.

Kimberly places the highest priority on client satisfaction, and she won't quit until the client is happy. I'm a demanding client and the project had the inevitable snags in terms of approach, budget, etc. She resolved all issues with care and professionalism.

Kimberly sticks to quality as much as possible, and likes to source beautiful pieces from online auctions. This is time consuming for her but she loves doing it with a passion because of what she can find. While this requires patience from a client, she managed to snag me some amazing pieces, at a good price, that look fantastic in my living space and I'm really happy with her finds--which would not have been possible just by going to the local furniture store.

I have ended up with a space that I love to live in and which never fails to impress guests. I recommend Kimberly in the highest terms for a job well done.

Kimberly Humphrey of APT52DC helped me tremendously.

Background: I returned to the USA after three years living abroad and my condo was a mess. I forgot what I owned and what was where exactly. I wasn't sure how to put all of my objects and belongings together. My frustration was through the roof.

Solution: I used HOUZZ to search for a designer in my area and spotted Kimberly's APT52DC site showcasing interesting, bold colors, and lovely textures. Some of the items resembled things I owned or things I would buy. We connected quickly and chatted. She shared ideas and opinions, and guided key purchases and ways forward (two large area rugs, lampshades, gallery wall display, high gloss furniture painting, and wall colors).

Her eye and decision support helped me to settle back into living in DC. And, my condo is looking great, of course.

Kim has an amazing design eye and gift for color. She can evaluate a space and offer creative guidance on paint, furnishings, and layout. She took our open floor plan, mid-century modern home and gave structure and character to every room, top to bottom.

From recommendations for unique wall color combinations that we love to unexpected uses of furniture and helpful instructions on new purchases, she was there to oversee the transformation every step of the way. Every guest compliments the end result and we have been enjoying our space tremendously.

We highly recommend Kim for any design project no matter how daunting!

Looking for help to decorate your living space, whether large or small? I highly recommend Kimberly for her design talents, command of colors and fabrics, access to great sites for good deals, and more.

Frankly, I wasn’t really sure I really wanted to redo my digs after my wife died, but with Kimberly, it became a fun and life-affirming experience. I was particularly impressed by Kimberly’s appreciation of art and framing, which helped me showcase my wife’s works throughout my apartment, thus adding precious memories to my daily use & enjoyment.

Last but not least I appreciate the way Kimberly listened to my preferences, offered expert guidance, and flexed to my needs.

Kimberly helped us select art for our apartment. She has a very good eye and is well connected to artists and galleries. She was extremely respectful of our taste and preferences and never pushy. She was very prompt and provided us with many options.

She also introduced me to her framer and hung the art for us. She is a pleasure to work with.
